Uche O. Asonye, Attorney Managing Partner

Mr. Asonye has been selected as a Leading American Attorney . To be selected as a Leading American Attorney, attorneys must receive multiple recommendations from their peers in a statewide survey conducted by American Research Corporation. Fewer than 8% of the state's attorneys are Leading American Attorneys. Mr. Asonye was selected as a Leading American Attorney in both of his practice areas: Employment and Immigration Law.
Mr. Asonye received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1992 from Loyola University of Chicago. He is admitted to Illinois state courts, U.S. District Court (Northern District of Illinois), U.S. Tax Court, and the Federal Trial Bar. Mr. Asonye became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1987. He received a Bachelor's degree with honor from DePaul University in 1985, majoring in Accountancy and Computer Science. Mr. Asonye graduated at the top of his high school class prior to attending DePaul University.

Renee C. Fell, Attorney

She has significant experience representing clients in a variety of matters, including whistleblower claims, discrimination claims under Title VII, Illinois Human Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Family and Medical Leave Act retaliation suits, restrictive covenants, separation agreements, breach of contract, defamation, and related labor and employment torts. Renee has represented clients before Federal and Illinois state courts, as well as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Illinois Department of Human Rights, the Illinois Department of Employment Security and private arbitrators. Renee has been admitted to practice before the bar of the Supreme Court of Illinois, as well as in federal court at the Northern District of Illinois.

Renee obtained her law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, graduating in 2013. In law school, Renee received a CALI Award for excellent achievement in Appellate Advocacy, in which she briefed and argued a pregnancy discrimination case on behalf of the plaintiff-employee. During law school, Renee also clerked for the Cook County Public Defender and worked as an intern to Commissioner Timothy A. Simon at the California Public Utilities Commission. 

Christina Missey, Attorney

Christina MisseyChristina has extensive experience in immigration law, primarily in family-based immigration and removal defense. During law school, Christina participated in her law school's immigrant and human rights clinic, where she represented non-citizens before the Immigration Court in Orlando, Florida. After graduating law school, Christina continued to represent immigrants in removal proceedings at various private firms in Maryland. While in private practice, Christina advocated before the Board of Immigration Appeals to recognize "prosecutorial witnesses" as a proposed social group in Matter of H-L-S-A-. Christina has also served as an immigration consultant to the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of Maryland on federal re-entry cases as well as collaborated with the Office of the Public Defender's Post Conviction Unit.

Gail Asonye, CPA/Business Operations Manager

Work Photos - December 2012 127 640x480Gail received her Bachelor of Science in Commerce from DePaul University. Her Major was Accountancy, with a Minor in Computer Information Systems. Gail has several years of experience as a Manager and Consultant for such companies as Price Waterhouse, and Computer Language Research/Research Institute of America.

Sedenia Johnson, Office Manager

DSCN1018 640x480Sedenia Johnson is the Officer Manager at Asonye & Associates. She has earned her Associates in Applied Science with her major as a Paralegal from Northwestern College in 2009. Sedenia is currently a member of Alpha Beta Gamma, a Business Honor Society.

She currently assists all staff members with various legal tasks and other administrative duties. Sedenia dedicates herself to the law firm of Asonye & Associates and continues to enhance her life activities and education.

Mecca Wilkinson, Law Clerk

Mecca WilkinsonMecca T. Wilkinson is a Law Clerk at Asonye & Associates. She is a second-year law student at the DePaul University College of Law, focusing on International Human Rights Law. Prior to attending law school, Mecca received her Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Psychology and the study of Communication from the University of Arizona in 2014. After completing her undergraduate degree, Mecca started a career in hospitality where she worked in human resources and corporate social responsibility. Mecca oversaw a variety of functions to include companywide immigration processes, global human trafficking prevention efforts, global philanthropy and volunteerism, etc. It was during this career development that Mecca found a passion for International Human Rights. Mecca currently assists all staff members at Asonye & Associates with immigration processes, legal drafting and research, and administrative duties as necessary.

Kajal Patel, Law Clerk

Kajal PatelKajal Patel is a Law Clerk at Asonye and Associates. She is a second-year law student at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She is currently an Articles Editor for the Public Interest Law Reporter as well as an Associate Editor for the International Law Review. After her first year of law school, she worked as a Summer Judicial Extern at the Circuit Court of Cook County, County Division. Kajal received a Bachelor of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in May 2020.

Daniel Asonye, Law Clerk

DA 640x480Dan is a Law Clerk at Asonye & Associates. He is currently enrolled at Southern Illinois University School of Law where he is a member of the law school's Law Journal as well as a member of the school's Moot Court team.

Dan is also civically engaged having organized voter registration drives and public demonstrations. From 2018-2020, Dan was an aide to the Mayor of Chicago's political team. Beginning in June 2021, Dan served as the First Vice President of the Young Democrats of Illinois.
